Representation of the Mother of God on the Murals of the Churches in Gemer in the Middle-Ages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abstract<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The introduction tells about the European significance of the Kingdom of Hungary before Moh\u00e1cs, and within that the role of the territory of G\u00f6m\u00f6r. This area has preserved the general cultural standards of medieval Hungarian rural towns and villages to this day, as modern development has avoided this area. The paper highlighted the depictions of Mary from the 13th to 15th century murals of the seven churches of this region and from the winged altar of Hizsny\u00f3 made in 1508, and pointed to the two-century evolution of the depictions of the Mother of God on the basis of theological definitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
